Being a parent is a full-time job: being a single parent can be more than twice as hard.

Until 5th December 2005, the law regarded a parent with a same-sex bidie-in as a single parent. Since the Civil Partnership Act, this is no longer the case: if your bidie-in accepts your child as part of the family, they have legal responsibilities towards the child.
